Major Schemes Related to Higher Education in Haryana

There are the major schemes related to higher education in the state. These are as follows:

Rajiv Gandhi Education City

  • It is a planned city of education in Sonipat district of Haryana. It was founded in June 2012.
  • Under this scheme of the State Government, there is a plan to run 13 educational institutions in this education city.
  • Currently (as of October, 2020), 10 educational institutions have been started in this operation.
  • India's first and only design university, the World University of Design, has been established in Rajiv Gandhi Education City Sonipat in 2018.
  • Soft Skill Scheme

  • This scheme was started in the year 2008 in 17 government colleges in Haryana.
  • The objective of the scheme is to enhance the ability of the students and provide them training for communication skills, interpersonal skills, BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) and ITES fields.
  • EDUSAT Project .

  • The then Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh launched the EDUSAT Satellite based educational programmes in Haryana in 2007.
  • This project was started by the Government of Haryana in the year 2007 in the government colleges of the state. The objective of this project is to provide education through satellite system.
  • Through EDUSAT (Education Satellite) education is being broadcasting in primary secondary, college level and technical institutes.
